Sustainable Energy Made Simple

We make green energy easy for everyone.

From supplying 100% renewable electricity and installing affordable solar systems, to offering EV solutions and personalised energy pricing.

We do green energy, so you can save money while doing your bit for the planet.

get Cleaner energy with so energy

Supporting smarter, greener choices at home

Solar and battery

Go solar with us and generate green electricity, store it, or sell it to the grid. With no deposit, and payments from £75 a month, you could be saving 70% on your electricity bills sooner than you think¹.

smart tariffs

Smart meters show your real-time energy use, so you can track and control what you spend. Smart tariffs like So Unique can help you save up to £200² a year. Join our Waiting List to find out more.

EV Charging

Drive for as little as 1.4p a mile³ when you sign up for our EV tariff. With our overnight charging rate of 6.5p per kWh, you could save up to 92% against public charging⁴.

Vote to shape the future of energy

We encourage our customers to vote for the renewable energy sources we invest in. Every vote is covered by UK-based green energy generation projects.

Wind

Wind power is at the heart of the UK's clean energy future. Particularly offshore wind farms. Our long coastline, shallow waters and strong winds have made us the number one generator in Europe, and the 5th largest generator worldwide.

Solar

Solar is one of the cheapest and quickest renewable energy technologies. Combined with wind, it's central to making all the UK's electricity clean by 2030. Solar panels capture sunlight and converts it into electricity using photovoltaic cells - simple, clean, and efficient.

Hydro

Hydropower uses the weight and flow of water, released from a height to drive water turbines to create electricity. It provides a small share of UK energy, around 1 to 2%, but plays an important role in keeping the grid balanced.

Biomass

The biomass process burns organic materials, like wood, to create steam, which turns a turbine to produce electricity. In 2024, it supplied about 14% of the UK's green power, making it the second-largest renewable source after wind.

make your Tariff choice count

By choosing our fixed, EV, or green tracker tariffs, you're investing in UK-based renewable energy projects and adding more clean power to the National Grid.

Footnotes

1. The 70% figure is based on a £9,310 system (8x505W panels, 5kWh battery, south-facing 35 (degree) London roof, 26.35p/kWh unit rate, 0.15p/kWh export). MCS estimates 3975kWh/year, covering 70% of a typical 3,500kWh households needs, saving £37,602 over 25 years.

2. The £200 saving claim is based on over 200 trial samples modelled against our So Flex Standard Variable Rate on 29 September 2025. Your actual savings will depend on how much energy you shift, and whether you shift to Off-peak or Super Off-peak times.

3. The 1.4p a mile figure is based on the Tesla Model 3 RWD because it was the UK’s second best-selling vehicle in 2024 (We Buy Any Car). A Tesla Model 3 RWD has an EV efficiency of 220 Wh/mile (or 0.22 kWh/mile). Multiplying 0.22 by So EV’s off-peak rate of 6.5p per kWh results in the cost of 1.43p per mile (which we can round down to 1.4p per mile).

4. A public ultra-rapid charger costs EV drivers, on average, £0.78 per kWh. So Energy’s off-peak tariff rate is 6.5p per kWh. Our calculations (1-6.5/78 = 0.916, or 92%) show that you’ll save 92% versus public charging when combining your charger with our EV tariff.
